In this workshop, you will learn ways to help unravel tension in your tissues to prepare for deeper work in running, biking, CrossFit workouts, yoga practices and your life. Deep, myofascial tissue release moves along myofascial lines and meridians (long fibrous pathways of connective tissue that contract and adhere from habitual movement and posture). This type of therapy aims to relax muscles and improve blood and lymphatic circulation. By manipulating the fascia, physical constrictions are released, opening areas that may feel stuck or tense. This workshop will incorporate trigger point release and myofascial release so that you leave with a simple but effective knowledge that you can apply on your own...at the gym and at home.
Please note: This is not a yoga class. Think of it as a mobility workshop. Bring 2 tennis balls and/or 2 lacrosse balls and a yoga mat. Please arrive at least 15 minutes before start time.
Christina is a licensed massage therapist and yoga teacher. She is constantly searching for new, innovative ways to heal the body through yoga, studying with Jonny Kest, Kathryn Budig, Bryan Kest, Mackenzie Miller, Dice Ilda-Klein, and Patrick Beach, and is currently completing her 500HR TT with Tiffany Cruikshank. She created her signature Myofascial Release workshop from her vast knowledge of the musculoskeletal system and extensive myofascial release training.
